Breathe out…

It’s done!

Today I submitted my last assignment for my graduate certificate in change management. And what a lot of change I’ve dealt with over the past 19 months!

No more study-guilt. My course convener said during induction that when we’re done, we would miss the study… Um, ok…

Right now I’m going to enjoy having my evenings back. Season 4 GoT is ready to binge, and I can’t wait to see Outlander! I have my son’s 2012 and 2013 photo books to produce. womankind and alphabet journal magazines to read and the 2015 Ikea catalogue just arrived. The ‘when I’ve finished my course’ to-do list is about a page long!

And now there’s time to really find that creative outlet: is it this blog? Is it knitting? Quilting with my mum? Who knows? But now there’s the chance to explore it.

Very excited for what’s next!

The first…

It’s been on my mind for a while now to start a blog, but where to start? What’s not been done by someone else? What topic to choose? Blog your passion; ‘follow your passion’ is crappy advice. There is no right or wrong. Just start.

So here goes.

Thanks to Princess Pandora for pointing me to Sunday Stealing: my starting point.

1. Outside my window…

It is dark (9:45pm Sunday night), but I can see some twinkly lights in the distance

 2. I am thankful…

For many things: the usual (my son, my family, my dog), my current employment status, but mainly for making it through the toughest year of my life, intact and sane.

 3. In the kitchen…

There are probably dishes to be done.

 4. I am wearing…

My pjs

 5. I am creating…

My first blog post

 6. I am going…

Strong, so far

 7. I am reading…

Course materials for my grad certificate, although in 2.5 weeks this will be a VERY different answer!

 8. I am learning…

Formal learning, my grad certificate in Change Management. Informally, being a single mum, politics of new job, how to re-connect with friends after studying, navigating WordPress.

 9. I am pondering…

Things I shouldn’t two weeks before my studies finish… I should be studying, not thinking about blog topics, houses, dating or permanent jobs.

 10. A favorite quote…

“And the Buffy staked Edward, The End”

 11. One of my favorite things…

Getting a massage – tis the first thing on the to do list after assignment is submitted.

 12. A few plans for the rest of the week…

Study, writing, during the week and then 3rd birthday celebrations on the weekend

 13. A peek into my day…

Today started with a rare sleep-in, then we went out for brunch. My son (who isn’t a spewer) vomited as soon as we sat down at the cafe, but then demanded bread. We ate brunch, did some grocery shopping then came home. After a little quiet time, the E hit the wall. Some Panadol administered and he went to sleep for two hours (who knew when bedtime tonight would be). I did a computer back-up and blog searching. He woke up and chirped “I feel better now mum”. A sandwich and apple for him, pumpkin soup and a slice of left-over pizza for me was dinner. He had a bath, pjs, then a few stories: didn’t drink his bottle, but not surprised since that’s what triggered the vomiting this morning. He was surprisingly asleep by 9:15 and I won’t be far behind him.

Goodnight!
